Building schools, building futures

Since 2015, Partners has so far helped transform learning environments for more than 44,000 students across 31 schools in the Amhara Region. Working hand-in-hand with local communities and education authorities, we replace unsafe, deteriorating classrooms with bright, durable spaces where students can learn, grow, and thrive.

Each school includes modern classrooms, libraries, science labs, administration blocks, and menstrual health and sanitation facilities, all furnished with locally made desks and chairs. Beyond infrastructure, we support holistic learning by providing books, sports equipment, and resources.

Projects are initiated and co-funded by communities, who contribute 60–80% of total costs and play an active role in public bidding, construction oversight, and decision-making. This shared ownership ensures that every school is more than a building. It’s a lasting symbol of local commitment to education.
