School Construction Update: Addis Amba Pre-Primary School, Bahir Dar ( December 5, 2025)

Great progress is underway at the Addis Amba Pre-Primary School construction site in Bahir Dar, Amhara Region!

Following a fully transparent and community-inclusive bid opening on 17 August and the official site handover on 28 August 2025, construction has advanced remarkably. The project includes twelve new classrooms, a dedicated special needs room, WASH facilities, an access road, and a latrine block.

Quality has been a central priority throughout the process. A joint supervision team from the Bahir Dar City Administration Education Office, Amhara Development Association, school leadership, PiEE engineers, and the contractor has been closely monitoring every stage to ensure high standards are maintained.

Significant milestones have already been achieved. Site clearing, leveling, and excavation were completed successfully, followed by foundation work, masonry, and concrete casting. Wall construction, plastering, and roofing have progressed steadily, with the roof now nearing completion.

We are excited to see this transformative project moving forward, bringing safer, child-friendly, and inclusive learning spaces to the Addis Amba community.
