Government Collaboration

Partners works closely with local and regional education authorities to ensure every project meets national standards.

The Woreda (District) Education Office co-signs construction contracts, assigns and pays teachers, supplies learning materials, and supports professional development. The Regional Education Bureau authorizes steering committees for each target school, composed of government representatives, educators, parents, and Partners staff. The Bureau also provides Partners with a furnished office free of rent, demonstrating a shared commitment to advancing inclusive education.

Community Collaboration

Every Partners project begins with community leadership. Local committees initiate projects, contribute a negotiated share of the total cost, and co-sign construction contracts. Contributions are deposited before work begins, ensuring shared ownership and accountability.
Contractors are selected through a transparent public bidding process, with sealed bids opened at community meetings. Once construction is underway, community members — alongside local government engineers and Partners’ independent consultants — oversee progress, quality, and environmental greening efforts.

Organizational Partnerships

Many of our programs beyond school construction are delivered through partnerships with local and international NGOs, universities, and non-profits. These collaborations expand our impact in areas such as water and sanitation, inclusive education, health initiatives, teacher training, greening and gardening, and educational research.

Our teacher training programs, for example, are supported by regional governments, universities, and ICS Addis Ababa, who contribute volunteers and resources that strengthen classroom quality and learning outcomes.
