TCD Training at Biruh Tesfa Primary

Partners in Education Ethiopia (PiEE) delivered a focused Teacher and Leader Capacity Development training at Biruh Tesfa Primary School in Debre Birhan, North Shewa Zone, from 21–23 November 2025. The three-day program brought together dedicated educators committed to strengthening instructional quality and building more student-centered classrooms.

Throughout the workshop, teachers and school leaders explored practical strategies in differentiated instruction, collaborative professional culture, and effective Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). They also worked hands-on to design standards-based lesson plans, assessments, and unit-aligned subject lessons tailored to students’ interests and diverse learning profiles.

Early classroom observations showed strong progress, with 90% of participating teachers clearly posting learning targets, communicating their purpose, and applying multiple evidence-based strategies to support every learner. The dedication shown during the training reflected a shared drive to elevate teaching practices and improve learning outcomes.

This initiative aligns with PiEE’s broader vision of strengthening schools as child-centered learning communities led by empowered and reflective educators.
