Menstrual Health at Biruh Tesfa Primary
Partners in Education Ethiopia (PiEE) delivered a Menstrual Health training at Biruh Tesfa Primary School on 23 November 2025, bringing together male and female middle school students.
The one-day session created a safe, supportive, and empowering space for learning, open dialogue, and confidence building. Girls were encouraged to share their personal experiences and emotions surrounding their first menstruation—helping normalize conversations, break stigma, and strengthen peer support networks. Male students also engaged actively, contributing to a more informed, respectful, and inclusive school environment.
At the end of the training, all participants were designated as Gender Champions and provided with identification vests and reference materials to guide their ongoing roles. Their enthusiasm and commitment were immediately visible as they prepared to advocate for menstrual health awareness, support their peers, and promote positive attitudes across the school community.
This initiative reflects PiEE’s broader commitment to gender equity, adolescent health, and safe, inclusive learning environments, ensuring that every student can learn with dignity and confidence.
