Mastewal, a mother of two from Deberework, is breaking harmful hygiene myths thanks to the Mom-to-Mom program. With support from the Peter Gilgan Foundation and Operation Eyesight, women like her are embracing healthier practices one conversation at a time.

Hayat Yenus, an 11-year-old student from Bahir Dar, struggled with vision problems that caused her to repeat first grade twice, as her family couldn’t afford follow-up care after early surgery. Thanks to a school screening by Partners in Education Ethiopia and Operation Eyesight, she received eyeglasses that restored her vision—renewing both her hope and her family’s.
