Restoring Sight, Restoring Hope!

For 55-year-old Adelach Kassa from Chagni Town, losing her sight meant losing her livelihood. Her daughter Seniet dropped out of school to care for her.

That changed when Partners in Education Ethiopia, with the Barzilai Foundation, reached her home. After screening, Adelach was referred to Dr. Solomon Eye Clinic for free cataract surgery.

“I didn’t believe it could be treated,” she recalls. “But my daughter encouraged me.”

A day after surgery, the bandages came off and Adelach could see again.

“I thanked God and everyone who helped me,” she said tearfully.

Now, she has regained her sight and independence, and Seniet plans to return to school.

“You brought back my happiness and my family’s hope,” Adelach says with gratitude
